14 Valentines Day Treats to Try

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Tampa chapter.

Whether you love or hate Valentines day, it’s a day to be extra sweet! Nothing does this better than baking something for someone! Here are some simple recipes you should check out:

1. Chocolate covered strawberries – https://www.realsimple.com/food-recipes/recipe-collections-favorites/des…

You don’t have to be Godiva to make these, and you can add all the toppings you want too. My favorite? Unsweetened coconut flakes https://cdn-

2. Mini Nutella & Strawberries

For the Nutella lover in your life, you can always gift a mini jar of Nutella along with some strawberries so they can dip them. This is the same thing as the first one, however this saves you the mess!

3. Red Velvet Pancakes – https://www.cookingclassy.com/red-velvet-pancakes-with-cream-cheese-glaze/

This would be the cutest way to wake up that someone special. Shape them into hearts, and you may end up stealing theirs too!

4. Valentine’s Pretzel Buttons – (https://griffithsrated.blogspot.com/2012/02/valentine-prezel-buttons.html)

Three ingredients and ready in under 15 mins! This one’s one of my favorites since it’s sweet and salty.

5. V-Day Pie Pops – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNjMAaVhKCU

This one’s a video if you’re tired of reading. These have always been the cutest to me, and one of the benefits is that they’re easy to eat, AND you can tie a cute message to the stick!

6. White chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake (heart swirl) – https://www.cookingclassy.com/white-chocolate-raspberry-cheesecake-2/

If you and your honey are going through a rough patch, you can bet making them this will get you on their better side! P.S. It saves you the risk of having to clean cheesecake off your face…

7. Jelly Pops – https://www.tablespoon.com/recipes/valentine-jelly-pops/ecd90213-f33a-4d…

For if you want something cold.

8. Strawberry Nutella Poptarts – https://thenovicechefblog.com/2012/02/strawberry-nutella-poptarts/

Why hasn’t Pop Tart made this a thing?!!

9. Fancy Jello – http://www.welke.nl/photo/Fioontje1981/Lekker-dessert-vooral-voor-kinder…

You might have to translate this website, but the pictures make it pretty clear; this recipe is so simple, and the final work looks so nice.

10. A Pink Smoothie – http://kblog.lunchboxbunch.com/2012/08/smoothie-monday-ripe-raspberry-my…

It doesn’t have to be this exact recipe or these exact fruits, but it’s a cute and festive treat (as long as it’s pink!).

11. Cake pops – https://hellolittlehome.com/heart-cake-pops/These “Shot Through the Heart” Cake pops will have you saying, “Cupid who?”

12. Valentines Cookie Pie – https://celebratingsweets.com/mm-cookie-pie/

For when you’d rather make one giant cookie instead of a bunch of tiny ones. Also, for UTampa Students:
