“The Greatest Showman” is groundbreaking. The creators took a lovable, family experience and told us the story behind it. It never crossed my mind to learn the (loose) history behind Barnum and Bailey. I also never thought that I would see it on the big screen with musical numbers and a Zendaya/Zac Efron romance.
With that being said, did you know that this movie took seven years to create? Unbelievable. The music, the costumes, the production! It’s every movie lovers’ dream.
The only thing I didn’t like was that the story-line was very slow for all the characters except for Hugh Jackman. He seemed to be moving at full speed while everyone else was in slow motion just living life. Maybe that was the point… maybe that’s what the creators want us to think. Geniuses.
The music and production quality were so enticing that it made up for the parts where I wanted to sleep.
The best part of the whole movie is the song, “This Is Me.” I don’t care what anyone says. That song is the best song and the best moment of the entire movie. You cannot listen to that song without feeling empowered and shedding a tear. I play this song whenever I need an extra push. College is hard and life is hard and sometimes you need a pump up song to increase your self confidence and overall happiness.
On a personal note, I am really happy that all those years ago, Zac Efron decided to take those singing lessons.
