There’s no denying that Cardi B has rapidly become a social icon in our generation. Whether she’s flaunting her 500k engagement ring, posting videos to her Instagram about her daily encounters or promoting her music and collaborations, we’re all hooked on knowing what the rapper is up to. Ever since her hit “Bodak Yellow” was released last year, her fame has skyrocketed immensely. Some might even, dare I say, compare her to the reigning Queen of our generation, Beyoncé.

Now I’m not saying that Beyoncé and Cardi are in a competition for that top spot. But we can’t deny that Cardi is taking the world by storm at the moment. Not to mention, she just broke a world record for having the longest running number 1 hit as a solo female rapper on the Billboard Hot 100 *thank you very much*. Let’s just say, Cardi is completely 100% herself and that is portrayed through her music and we’re all here for it.
The truth is, we all loved Cardi B before we even knew who she was. She first became meme-level funny when she starred in the show Love & Hip Hop, blessing us with an array of relatable quotes and moments from the meme queen herself. We also can’t forget her infamous vines and YouTube videos that taught us valuable lessons such as “a hoe never gets cold.” Her hilarious Instagram videos, in which she manages to be completely Cardi with her own Cardi vocabulary and Cardi dialect and still be so incredibly hilarious, are the highlight of anyone’s day. Seriously, she’s just an all-around gal.Â

The 25-year-old Bronx native has added quite an impressive array of awards and nominations to her list, making her competitive against the likes of Rihanna and Queen Bey for the top female spot in the music industry. She has been recently nominated for 2 Grammys and 4 iHeart Radio Music Awards. Beyond that, she has already won 5 BET Hip Hop Awards and a Soul Train Music Award. Talk about a bo$$ lady. Â
Cardi B has created a name for herself in this industry that has been unparalleled by any other current artist. I mean, who else do you know can pull off those risqué outfits, rap about the hard truth and struggles a woman goes through AND carry an eight-carat ring on your finger (must be heavy)? She surely is giving other big names in the industry a run for their shmoney

Beyond her musical success as a solo female rapper, Cardi B has shown us how to go from rags to riches without losing who you truly are. She is an inspiration to many women going through tough times and she shows that anything is possible when you work hard. Clearly, this is Cardi B’s world and we’re all just living in it.Â
