Top 5 Themed Restaurants You Need to Try in the Upcoming Year

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at York U chapter.

Are you tired of the same old same old, with the repetitive order of chicken fingers and your favourite beer? Wanna switch things up before the end of this year? Well, then you’ve stumbled upon the right article! Luckily, we all live in or near the city that can accommodate for all our moods and cravings; here is a quick look into what I think are some of the best themed restaurants in Toronto!

The Sultans’s Tent

Located at: 49 Front St, E

Diners are in for a super unique experience at The Sultan’s Tent. Their French-Moroccan cuisine is served in a three-course dinner on Fridays and Saturdays that includes a belly dance performance! Whether you’re in the mood to broaden your cultural horizons or taste your roots, The Sultan’s Tent does not disappoint with their true to home menu options!

Poop Cafe

Located on 706 Bloor St. W

went to a pretty interesting place the other day…

Toronto’s first and only poop-themed cafe. Are you surprised? Eating out of toilets isn’t just for dogs anymore. This dessert shop serves up ice cream, lattes, and much more out of toilet-shaped cups and bowls. If you love using the poop emoji on your phone as much as I do, then this is definitely your place to be! I mean, who doesn’t want to be surrounded by little poops when eating? Don’t answer that…

Medieval Times

Located on: 10 Dufferin St.

Is there anywhere more themed and fun than Medieval Times?! Eat with your hands, chat with all the uniquely dressed characters, and cheer on your favourite knight as you watch them duke it out Medieval style! What could possibly be more fun than that? (UH, NOTHING??)

See – Scape

Located on: 2846 Dundas St. W

See-Scape is basically nerd heaven. All of the food and drinks are science-fi/fantasy-themed which makes this restaurant that much cooler. I mean, how many times have you thought what a science reaction you did in high school chemistry would taste like? Well, now’s your chance to find out! The best part is, not only is the food science-themed but each of the booths has its own science approach as well!

O Noir

Located on: 620 Church St.

Dining in the dark has never tasted so good. O Noir is right at Church & Charles, with a staff of knowledgeable and bubbly visually impaired servers to walk you through a dinner without vision. I don’t know about you, but this type of diner is something I definitely would check out. Whether you’re curious about the culture or just want to try something new, take a step out of your comfort zone and dive into a new world of class, culture and great-tasting wine!

Toronto is a city filled with great places and great opportunities; it is a city that allows you to experience various themes and cultures all in close proximity. These restaurant are some great places around the city to get out of your comfort zone and really experience new things like never before.
