Are you a freshman or sophomore interested in STEM or health and looking for a productive way to spend this upcoming summer? Well, if so, here’s an opportunity for you.
The Summer Health Professions Education Program is a free summer program that helps college freshmen and sophomores, interested in health professions, gain more access to information and resources. This program’s goal is to increase career development, academic skills and help students apply and enroll in health profession schools. SHPEP is located at 13 different universities nationwide including Howard University in Washington, D.C., Columbia University in New York, N.Y. and Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, L.A.
The application opened on Dec. 1, 2017 and closes Feb. 15, 2018.
Decisions will be released on March 15 and students will be accepted to the program’s waitlist beginning March 20.
Requirements for this program are that you:

Must be a college freshman or sophomore at the time of the application

Must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA
-
Be a U.S. citizen, a permanent resident or DACA status by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services
-
Have no experience with this program
