1. She is an advocate for gender equality

Emma is a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador and speaks often about feminism and why gender equality is important. During the launch of the HeForShe campaign, Emma encouraged men to join the fight against gender inequality, arguing that women cannot successfully fight this battle alone.

2. She has done extensive charity work

Emma once told reporters that she has “way too much money to know what to do with it.” She went on to say that besides her education (she went to Brown University for English literature), the most expensive things she has bought are a laptop and a Toyota Prius. So where does Emma spend the rest of her money? She supports many charities, and some of them include: Great Ormond Street Hospital, Millennium Promise, Sense, ShelterBox, and Small Steps Project.

3. She stands up for what she believes in

A fan once tweeted at Emma asking what she could do to change her dad’s view that only men could become engineer’s, and Emma simply replied, “Become an engineer.” I absolutely love how she isn’t afraid to say what she feels, and I think this highlights what a great role model she is not only for young girls, but for every woman who cares about equality.
