Third Annual ART of the Wisconsin BBA Exhibition to Open Dec. 7

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wisconsin chapter.

The Art of Wisconsin BBA Student Exhibition coming up on this Thursday, Dec. 7, is a non-juried exhibition designed to showcase and celebrate the creativity of UW-Madison’s business students. It allows individuals to express themselves in ways other than traditional forms typically emphasized in a classroom setting.

Majors in the Wisconsin School of Business include marketing, finance, real estate and accounting; the B-school website also highlights sections that entail career advice, research, news and initiatives — but these are not the only labels business school undergraduates should be associated with. These multifaceted students often possess many unique qualities, but their talents are often neglected or buried under a coat of stereotypes — that’s why the Art of Wisconsin BBA Student Exhibition was started.

This year’s show will highlight an assortment of mixed mediums. The exhibition will feature works different expressive styles: from traditional pieces, like oil and canvas paintings, to contemporary digital photos.

Student directors Casey Haas and Lee Troz will host this year’s exhibition. Haas is especially excited to coordinate this event because she believes it is important to display business Badgers’ creativity.

“Art has always been a passion of mine, and [it has] helped me develop unique problem-solving abilities; and for others, it is a form of expression,” Haas said. “The Art of the Wisconsin BBA Exhibition serves as a reminder that creativity should be honored.”

This exhibition is co-hosted by the Wisconsin BBA and the Bolz Center for Arts Administration at the Wisconsin School of Business, in collaboration with UW Arts Institute.
