Trader Joe’s caused a lot of confusion among Riverdale viewers when fans discovered that the grocery store chain sells “Jingle Jangle,” Entertainment Weekly reports. For anyone who’s not addicted to the show (is that even possible?), Jingle Jangle is a widely distributed drug and one of the many things threatening the youth of Riverdale. You know, besides the Serpents, the Ghoulies and a psychopathic hooded man currently on a murder spree.Â
On Riverdale, Jingle Jangle is an ecstasy-like drug sold in the form of Pixie Stix. Don’t be alarmed—the Trader Joe’s version is nothing like that. In fact, the store started selling their Jingle Jangle way before we even met the CW versions of Archie and his crew. In the real world, Jingle Jangle is nothing but a festive name for “a fun mix of fan favorite candy treats.” The tin full of goodies includes chocolate-covered pretzels, caramel corn, peanut-butter cups and definitely no drugs.
A representative from Trader Joe’s was sure to set the record straight when asked about the shared name. “It’s just a fun name that plays off of sleigh bells referenced in Christmas carols since it is a holiday item,” said the representative. “It’s also a fun way to describe the sound customers might hear when they give the tin can a shake.”

Only the twisted mysteries of Riverdale could lead people (including me) to think their local grocery store is dealing a fictional drug. It’s quite possible that The CW is taking over the world.Â
