This channel is perfect for anyone interested in history, dramatic readings, mythology, and literature. The creators, “Red” and “Blue,” do an excellent job of retelling classic tales in an entertaining and comedic way.

 

2. The Lizzie Bennet Diaries – Anything

The videos on this channel are all part of a series that retells Pride and Prejudice in a modern-day video-blog form. Some of the actors and actresses have appeared in other famous television shows and movies. This series is funny and great for binge-watching!

Channel Description: Watch “Lizzie Bennet as she narrates the trials and tribulations of her family life with the help of her best friend and aspiring.”

 

3. Shipwrecked. – Edgar Allan Poe’s Murder Mystery Dinner Party

Shipwrecked.’s Edgar Allan Poe’s Murder Mystery Dinner Party takes the gothic and turns it into a hilarious series of crimes committed by the various characters surrounding Mr. Edgar Allan Poe.

4. CrashCourse – Literature playlist

This series, produced by CrashCourse, is hosted by John Green – author of Paper Towns and The Fault in Our Stars. It teaches you the basics about some major authors and books like Sylvia Plath, Langston Hughes, Beloved, and Things Fall Apart. It’s educational, entertaining, and has a lot of fun animation to go along with Green’s explanations.

 

5. Nerdwriter1 – Anything

This channel does a lot of reviews and examinations of the writing done in new and older movies. The narrator really researchers their topic and discusses their points in great detail. While it may not seem applicable to book lovers, the tips discussed and the examination of how storytelling in film is done can actually be really useful in examining other forms of storytelling (including one’s own).
