Meet our next writer, Hanna! A sophomore at Conn who loves all things British. Learn about her plans to go abroad, the Peace and Conflict Pathway she’s doing, and some other quirky facts about her. Â
Majors: I plan on Majoring in History (American Social movements) and minoring in theater. I also plan on completing the Peace and Conflict Pathway!Â
Hometown: Menlo Park, California.Â
Extracurricular Activities: Her Campus, CC Dems, PR Committee on the Women’s Empowerment Initiative, and part of the tour guide team! Â
Do you have a favorite spot on campus? I absolutely love going to the arboretum! It is the perfect place to relax. Â
Favorite meal you miss from home? Raman! But not the microwavable kind, the authentic bowl as big as your head ramen.Â
Favorite play or musical: Dogfight! It is an amazing show, I love everything about it. The music, the story and the set. Still waiting for Wig and Candle to start a production of it.Â
Favorite Hobby:Â Wandering. My favorite thing to do is just walk through cities, take pictures and pop in and out of cafes and book shops. I also love to hike, and walk along the beach. So in short, wandering.Â
Favorite Quote: “To tame the savageness of man and make gentle the life of this world” Bobby Kennedy said in a speech after the assassination of MLK, and I find it so moving and relevant.Â
Favorite book:Â Uhhhh Harry Potter of course!Â
Favorite TV show:Â Call the Midwife, The Crown. Basically give me a period drama, and I am a happy lady.Â
Favorite movie:Â Almost Famous or Across the Universe. Hands down, the two best movies ever!Â
What Pathway are you doing? I am doing the Peace and Conflict Pathway with the hope to study past conflicts of the 20th century, and figure out how to create long-lasting peace today.Â
What abroad programs are you looking at? It’s my dream to live somewhere in the United Kingdom! Right now I am thinking University of Edinburgh or St. Andrews. I am thinking of going in the Spring with the hope that I can extend my stay into the summer!Â
