A Guide to Self-Care During #MidtermSzn

This is a sponsored feature. All opinions are 100% from Her Campus.

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Temple chapter.

It’s the end of October, which can only mean two things: there are giant bags of candy available at all local retailers, and your professors are plotting to ruin your life with midterms.

Remembering to practice self-care is especially important when life gets stressful, so here are 8 self-care tips to help you get through #midtermszn:

1. Treat. Yo. Self

No matter what treat yourself means to you- eating your favorite foods, having a wine night with your BFFs, or shopping- make sure you carve out some time to do things that make your soul happy. Our personal recommendation for treating yourself? Visit your local Aéropostale (yes, we said Aéropostale) to pick up some trendy new jeans or accessories so you can look stylish af while you study.

2. Streamline Your Morning Routine

Midterm season is generally synonymous with lack of sleep, so any products that make getting ready in the morning a lil easier are our go-tos. Bed Head by TGI has two different kinds of dry shampoos to choose from on the days when you have so much to do there’s no time to shower.

3. Mask On (Mask Off)

Nothing says self-care like face masks. These 3 masks from Freeman Beauty have been our personal favorites lately. The Cucumber + Pink Salt Clay Mask calms and soothes skin while gently exfoliating, the Manuka Honey +Tea Tree Oil acts as a mask and a cleanser, and the Charcoal + Black Sugar Mud Mask leaves skin feeling soft af.

4. Stay Hydrated

Drinking water is, in my humble opinion, the easiest and most important self-care tip of all. It’s good for your skin, good for your health, and gives you an excuse to leave class and take bathroom mirror selfies. For the collegiates out there who are easily bored by plain water, Spindrift has you covered – their sparkling water, infused with real fruit, comes in 7 different flavors so, no matter your mood, you can stay hydrated.

5. Plan, plan, plan

It’s easy to get overwhelmed when you have a lot on your plate, so keeping track of your to-dos is essential to keeping your sanity. Erin Condren’s LifePlanner keeps you organized and stylish, and what more could you need out of a planner?

6. Feed Your Sweet Tooth

I don’t know about you guys, but I crave sweets non-stop when I’m stressed out. Hi-Chew is one of my personal favorites because of the range of real fruit flavors and the fun, chewy texture. Stock up at your local 7-11 before your next study sesh.

7. Get Your Tan On

Midterms always make me miss being carefree and tan in the summer. While you may not be able to get that carefree feeling back just yet, L’Oréal Paris can help you get your tan back. Their Sublime Bronze ProPerfect Salon Airbrush Mist has a 360-degree micro mist to help reach those hard to reach places, and their Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Towelettes are perfect for the girl on the go.

8. Smile!!

Sometimes it’s hard to keep your head up when you’re feeling overwhelmed, but always remember that your mental health is so much more important than an exam grade, so do things that make you smile. And to keep that smile looking #fresh, use Steripods to protect your toothbrush and keep it clean for up to 3 months.

GPA is important, but staying sane is more important.

Remember to leave yourself time to de-stress and take care of yourself during midterms, and happy studying!
