Common Ground was such a cute place to go to in order to study and get some coffee or food, so ever since they’ve closed, I know some students have struggled to find similar environments. But no worries, here is a list of five places for you to study around Covington and Conyers!
- Bread n Butter
This cute coffee shop, which also has AMAZING food, is on the square in Covington, so it’s just a few minutes away and is within walkable distance. It has tables, normal chairs, comfy chairs, and even has books you can borrow if you just feel like reading a good novel while sipping your coffee!
- Starbucks
This is a little farther away since it’s in Conyers, but it’s really just a 15-minute drive, and you could get some Chipotle since it’s nearby. Although it’s usually crowded, and you can see a lot of Ox students there, there are always seats available, and you can sit outside!
- Panera
Panera has decent coffee, and they have good food (breakfast, lunch, AND dinner), so why not study there! There’s always plenty of room to sit, so if Starbucks is too crowded for ya but you don’t mind the 15-minute drive, go to Panera!
- Dunkin’
Dunkin’ is within walkable distance or just a 5-minute drive, and it has good coffee and donuts! It can be crowded whenever they have sales, but the outside seats aren’t usually taken!
- Outdoors
Another option is to brew your own coffee, or bring your own cup to Lils and get coffee from there, and sit outside! You can sit anywhere in the quad, near East Village, in front of Haygood, or between Old Lils and the Science Building! Just bring a blanket, some food, some drinks, and soak in some sun while studying.
