Hands down, Fall is my favorite season. The weather gets cooler, the leaves start changing, and the air feels fresher. There’s this feeling when fall rolls around that makes me want to light a candle (or three), make a warm cup of tea, and watch all my favorite romantic comedies.
Here in Alabama, it doesn’t really feel like fall until mid/late September. When I walked out of my dorm one morning and I wasn’t immediately sweating, I was pretty darn excited. So in honor of my favorite season, I’ve made a list of things I love about Fall.
1. The Change in Weather
In the South, especially in the summer, it gets pretty hot. While I love Summer, I eventually get annoyed with the weather being 90 degrees every day. I love seeing the gradual transition of colors outside. Bright, green leaves turn to burnt oranges and yellows. The weather feels perfect–not too hot but not too cold–a perfect medium. And don’t even get me started on rainy, lazy Sundays. Just appreciate them when they come.
2. Big Comfy Sweaters
It’s finally sweater weather, and there’s nothing better than bundling up in an huge sweater and leggings in the fall. It’s such a simple, yet super cute outfit. If that’s not a win/win situation, I don’t know what is. You can even dress up a sweater with jewelry and ankle boots, or keep in casual in sneakers. All I know is it’s what I’m going to be wearing for the next couple of months.
3. College Football
If I’m honest, I haven’t always been the biggest sports fan. But since coming to college and watching a college football game in person, I have to say it was extremely fun. I love the whole atmosphere of game day: tailgates, spending time with friends and family, and screaming for your team in the stands. WAR EAGLE!
4. Fall Playlists
Being the music lover that I am, I make a lot of playlists. One of them, my personal favorite, is dedicated to fall. I listen to the songs in the playlist below when I’m walking to class, when I’m studying, or when I’m just relaxing in bed.
5. Halloween
Halloween is a huge part of fall and one of my favorite holidays. It’s a chance to dress up however you want, who wouldn’t love that? The spectrum for costume themes is huge, so there’s a million choices for what to be. A vampire, a sexy angel, Britney Spears; the possibilities are endless! Even though I’m a total scaredy cat, haunted houses and horror movies are my favorite this time of year. I usually regret going to a haunted house five seconds after walking through the door, but what’s more fun than running away from a guy with a chainsaw? Perhaps a horror movie marathon with a group of friends and a large pizza?
