We all have that one person who we always go back to regardless of what they do – good or bad. The person who we think knows us better than ourselves and is worthy of overlooking all the missed calls, the late texts, and the lies. The person we think we can change.
Overall, the person we think we “love”. I know most of my counterparts would agree with the overall characteristic of this person we think we “love” because we’ve all been there. I know I certainly have, many times actually, too many times to count. But, there is hope for us big-hearted people, and here it is: learning the value of letting go.
I know it’s quite easy to say and difficult to do because I have found myself picking up the phone when I should have just blocked their number and found happiness within myself. However, once you let go, once you let go of an unworthy person, you start to recognize what kinds of people you should let in and those who should keep out.
1. Once you let go of that person, you start to recognize how bad they truly were to you. Hold them accountable, not yourself.
2. You become aware of people’s personalities and their true intentions – whether it’s pure or not.
3. You become more attuned to what you want out of life and begin to love yourself more.
4. You become happier knowing you closed the door on something negative.
5. You are no longer filled with negativity and have the desire to create positive atmospheres within your life.
6. You have the desire to create positive memories.
7. You learn from the past mistakes.
8. You start to value your worth.
Letting go is hard, but recognizing negativity is important if we want to live full lives. So, put that phone down, block their number, block them out of your life and start to live positively and know that loving yourself is more important.
