10 Memes Describing the SF Heat Wave

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at San Francisco chapter.

Mark Twain once said, “The coldest winter I’ve ever spent was the summer I spent in San Francisco.”

I say, “The hottest summer I’ve ever spent was the summer I spent in the Bay Area.”

This past week, the Bay has experienced record high temperatures ranging from 90 to 110 degrees. According to SFGate, San Francisco reached a record high of 106 degrees.

As a Bay Area native, this was torturously disgusting. Words could not even describe how hot it was.

San Francisco’s autumn is described as an Indian Summer; the summer is cold and the fall is super hot. The fall temperatures normally range from 75 to 95 degrees depending on what part of the Bay you live in.

This year was different; this year was an oven. I can’t handle the heat so, I stayed out of the kitchen and packed my bags for Oregon during Labor Day weekend. However, I still encountered heat and suffered. Please enjoy the following memes and gifs about dealing with the heat wave.

1. When you checked your phone and saw it was going to be nice outside for once

2. But realizing that it was going to be 90 to 100 degrees

3. San Franciscans walking outside in the heat

4. Realizing that Karl the Fog would not be out today

5. Walking outside and already sweating

6. Trying to find an outfit to wear on a hot day but all you have are longsleeves

7. Not being able to sleep because of the heat

8. Going to the beach and actually getting into the freezing cold water

9. Realizing that the heat wave is gonna go away soon but not the Indian Summer

10. Seeing Karl the Fog slowly come back home to the Bay
