Love Island
Because who doesn’t love a bit of love-fuelled drama of an evening? An absolute obsession amongst the HC Durham girls, we love the grit and gossip of Love Island. 10/10 from us.
Peaky Blinders
Firstly, Cillian Murphy. Secondly, SO much drama. Whatever camera filter the producers use is absolutely on point to depict the West Country gang culture on which the show is based – it’s murky and it’s maddeningly clever. Definitely get on the hype if you’re not already, but be warned in advance that this one isn’t for the faint-hearted.
Orange is the New Black
Literally who doesn’t love this show. Funny, spirited and centrally focused on girl power, we love it as much as the rest of the world.
Broadchurch
After a questionable second series (it can’t just be me, it was sh*te?!), Broadchurch rekindled the hearts of the nation with their recent, explosive third series. David Tennant and Olivia Coleman are the actual dream team and another gripping, whodunnit storyline brought this show back with a punch.
Modern Family
Hilarious, relatable and the eps are only 20 minutes long aka perf to wind down from work or to sneak in an episode before bed.
Clique
The BBC 3 drama-thriller set at Edinburgh uni. The twist and the end and the controversial subjects it addresses surrounding uni culture make it well worth a watch.
Happy Valley
Best thing on TV, no shadow of a doubt. Sarah Lancashire plays the sassy af policewoman working in the Yorkshire Dales and bringing about justice. The series covers some pretty intense topics (my mum told me not to watch it whilst home alone), but I spent a good 3 weeks after watching it convinced that I wanted to join the police force.
Escape to the Country
Daytime TV doesn’t get any better.
