Here’s a recipe for something you can make for dinner when Sauté just won’t cut it. Fried rice is super easy to make and all the ingredients can be found right here, on campus in the Cellar and Benson! Note: this recipe serves two.

Ingredients:

-Sesame oil

-About 2 cups of veggies of your choice or more or less if you prefer*

-1 instant rice pack

-2 eggs

-Soy sauce to taste

*I like to use peas, carrots, and bell peppers from the salad bar at Sauté

Directions:

  1. In a medium pan, heat up enough sesame oil so it covers the entire pan
  2. Cook vegetables in pan for about 5 minutes, stirring often
  3. Stir-fry for about 3 minutes
  4. Make a well in the middle of the pan and crack the eggs in the center of this well
  5. Lightly cook eggs by stirring it in the well
  6. Incorporate egg into the rest of the ingredients
  7. Follow directions on rice packaging to heat up rice
  8. Mix heated rice into vegetables
  9. Add soy sauce to fried rice to taste
  10. Serve immediately and enjoy!
