Following up from the runaway success of Disney’s latest Beauty and the Beast remake, the magical company is taking advantage of rekindling the love of adult’s everywhere for a good old-fashioned fairytale.
On March 31st, Disney launched The Dress Shop in their recently renovated Disney Springs area, located within Orlando’s Walt Disney World Resort. This popular shopping destination boasts an array of restaurants, cafes and, of course, the official World of Disney merchandise store.
The Dress Shop is the latest offering by Disney catered specifically for adult fans, offering up an array of vintage-style dresses inspired by classic movies and attractions. Located on Cherry Tree Lane, guests can choose from a selection of complete outfits that play homage to Haunted Mansion, Minnie Mouse and Alice in Wonderland’s Teacups.
There is also a range of accessories to pair with your dress, such as this complete ensemble inspired by Tower of Terror, alongside a Snow White special printed with the iconic red apple.
Despite ranging from $100-$160, many designs came close to selling out on opening day as locals and tourists alike flocked to check out the new designs which are perfect for special “Dapper Days”, held twice a year where guests are invited to don their best frocks for a fashionable day at the parks.
Whilst these are currently being sold exclusively in-store, they are expected to cross over onto the online market in the coming months – so watch this space!
