Rainy days are plentiful in springtime and sometimes it is hard to figure out what to do when the weather is gloomy. Here are some ideas for your next rainy day:
Â
1. Sleep in
On a rainy day, who doesn’t love staying snuggled under the covers in their comfy bed? The rhythmic pattering of raindrops on the windows could lull you to sleep as soon as you open your eyes. So, if you can, sleep in and enjoy the cozy atmosphere of a rainy day.
Â
2. Read a good book
Honestly, anytime is a good time to read a book. But rainy days especially lend themselves to reading. If you want to get away from the dark and wet of the day, find a book that takes you somewhere sunny and bright. It’ll occupy your time and your mind so that, hopefully, by the time you’ve finished reading it will have stopped raining.
3. Watch some Netflix
On a day where the sky is cloudy and every room is tinged with a certain darkness, watching Netflix is one of the best ways to spend your time. Whether you binge watch an entire series or have a movie marathon with friends, rainy days are prime time to plop yourself down for hours on end and enjoy pure entertainment.
4. Play a game
Â
Pick up a board game, like The Game of Life or Monopoly, and you could spend hours playing with your friends. You can even make it unique to your friend group by adding your own rules or twists to add some excitement to the childhood classics. Or, you could start a game of hide and seek throughout your building where the last person to be found gets to dare the others to do something. Spending the day playing games with friends can make the day indoors more enjoyable.
5. Go outside
Â
It’s probably one of the last things you’d think of on a rainy day, but going outside can be really fun. Grab a group of friends and play soccer in the rain or race across the grass and see who can get the least wet. There are plenty of creative activities to think up once you go out. Maybe you can even go singing in the rain!
Whether you love them or you hate them, rainy days are here to stay this month. But don’t worry because “April showers bring May flowers.” But before the May flowers arrive, make the most of these ample rainy days by trying some of these ideas.
