Six weeks until graduation

Don’t ask me what I’m doing after graduation.

Don’t tell me it’s going to be okay.

Don’t ask me what I feel about graduation.

Just don’t.

Ask me what I’m doing at the moment.

Ask me about my favorite things of Saint Mary’s

(Lake Marion and the fresh baked cookies).

Ask me about the meaning of life.

But don’t ask me about the future because there is no answer in that.

Stop telling me everything will be the same with my friends.

Stop telling me that nothing will change.

That we’ll be together forever.

Every fellowship splits at some point.

They still care,

they’re just not physically there.

Stop telling me to not worry about my grades for the rest of the semester.

That they don’t matter in the real world.

They matter to me.

I want to do well,

to know what I’m actually studying.

Don’t pity me,

don’t go “aww,”

don’t send me vibes.

If you want to help then ask how to help me.

It means more.

I’m not afraid.

I’m just unsure.

Everyone is feeling it,

but no one is saying it.

We’re all suffering in silence,

but we act like we’re the only ones that feel it.

Just be here for me.

Don’t give me advice or platitudes.

I need a genuine smile,

not false hope.

It’s not hard.
