This week we sat down with Clark softball player, Leah Bodin!
Name:Â Leah Bodin
Hometown:Â Andover, Vermont
Year/Major:Â Junior/Screen StudiesÂ
Are you involved in anything on campus? I’ve been on the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), Film Production Society (FPS), and National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH), but this semester I am focusing on softball and making a short film.
What’s your favorite thing about being an athlete at Clark? Softball is a game of failure (.300 is a pretty good batting average and that means you’re getting out 7 out of 10 times), so getting to play softball has helped me develop a sense of mental toughness that I try to carry with me on and off the field.Â
Being an athlete at Clark has also allowed me to combine two of my passions: sports and filmmaking. I made a few videos for the Athletics Department last semester and I hope to make more next year.
If you could have dinner with any film director (dead or alive) who would you pick? Richard Linklater. His movies look like they would have been so much fun to make, and I’m sure he has a lot of interesting stories. Plus he seems like a chill dude.
Ten seconds on the clock for ‘this or that’
Cats or dogs? Dogs
Chocolate or vanilla? ChocolateÂ
Winter Olympics or Summer Olympics? Winter (summer has a few really bizarre events, but I’m a sucker for skiing and snowboarding)
Visit Europe or Asia? EuropeÂ
Run outside or on the treadmill? OutsideÂ
Coffee or tea? Tea (iced over hot. I’m a cold drink person)
Mac or PC? Mac
Mountain or beach? MountainÂ
Sweet or sour? SweetÂ
Early bird or night owl? Night owl. My team can confirm, I showed up to our 8am breakfast this morning looking like a zombie.
Thanks, Leah!
