Portland has apparently decided that we won’t see the sun until well into July. We’ve had a really rainy Fall/Winter/early-Spring. Snow-pocalypse put Porltand in a state of chaos in early January. As a Portland-ite I walk almost everywhere. So let’s learn to embrace the weather, good and bad!
Â
1. Read a book.
If you can’t (or don’t want to) go outside then you’re limited to indoor activities. I love how rain sounds. So you could enjoy the rain from the warmth of your home/dorm room while reading a favorite book.Â
Â
2. Build a fort.
Â
3. Watch a Disney movie.
My favorites are: Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, and Tangled. Find yours on Netflix, Hulu, or even for free from the UP library or the local library.
Â
4. Make hot chocolate.Â
Â
5. Stay in your pajamas all day!
If you don’t have to put on pants then why would you put on pants?
Â
6. If you have to go outside, wear thick socks with waterproof shoes.
Â
7. Go to a museum.
Again, since you’re limited to indoor activities, pick some that would be really fun! You could go to the Portland Art Museum or OMSI.
Â
8. Eat some soup/ramen.Â
Â
9. Take a bath.
When the rain outside is so cold doesn’t it sound nice to be warm inside? Maybe you have a new bath bomb to try out or you just can’t be bothered to stand while getting clean.Â
Â
10. Color in coloring books.Â
