DIY: 5 quick and easy chocolate masks

We love chocolate. Eating a bar of dark chocolate everyday can have significant benefits to our health. It is natural that our skin enjoy a healthy dosage of chocolate as well. Dark chocolate or chocolate with 70% or more cocoa content brings tremendous effects to the skin. The top 5 most common merits of chocolate on skin are Anti-aging, Moisturizing, Acne and Oil control, Enhance UV rays protection and Absorb rich Vitamins and Minerals content. 

Here are 5 decadent recipes of chocolate facial you can pamper your skin with:

1) Moisturizing Choco Mask- a moisture retaining soft mask 

Ingredients: 3 tablespoons raw cocoa powder; 2 tablespoons honey; 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and 1 teaspoon coconut oil.

Application: Mix all ingredients well. Massage mask gently to face and wait for 25-30 minutes before washing off with warm water.

2) Toning Chocolate Mask- a hydrating, improve skin elasticity mask

Ingredients: 1/4 cup dark chocolate; 1 medium banana; 14 strawberries; 1 apple and 1 cup watermelon

Application: Melt the dark chocolate. Mix apple, banana, strawberries and water melon in a blender. Put 2-3 tablespoons of this fruit mix into a bowl. Add 1 tablespoon of your melted chocolate. Apply the mask and wait for 15-20 minutes before rinsing off with lukewarm water.

3) Cocoa Beauty Treatment Mask- a nourishing, smooth mask

Ingredients: 3 tablespoons cocoa powder; 1 tablespoon honey; 1 tablespoon plain yogurt and 1 vitamin E capsule

Application: Blend ingredients until smooth. Apply to your face and neck areas for 10-20 minutes then rinse out completely with lukewarm water.

4) Chocolate Facial Scrub- a face cleansing scrub

Ingredients: 4 tablespoons uncooked oats; 2 tablespoons coconut oil; 2 teaspoons unsweeted cocoa 

Application: Roughly blend the oats to in the food processor. Then mix the oats together with coconut oil and unsweetened cocoa. Gently rub mixture onto the skin and neck. Leave on for 15 minutes and rinse off with luke-warm water.

5) Exfoliat Chocolat Cream- a dead cell removal treatment

Ingredients: 3 tablespoons cocoa powder; 5 tablespoons water; 1 teaspoon fresh milk and 2 teaspoons salt

Application: Heat cocoa powder, water and add salt. Sea salt works as a product to remove dead cells. Then add fresh milk to the mixture. Apply mask and gently scrub in circular motions for 10 minutes before rinsing off with water. 

Remember to clean thoroughly before and after mask application and apply moisturizer at the end to prevent dehydration and accelerate mineral absorption to the skin.
