5 Face Masks to Treat Your Self

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Mizzou chapter.

Face masks are super popular right now and with good reason. You can have a spa day in the comfort of your own home or dorm, and they add pizazz to your boring wash routine. Here are five face masks to try out if you’re a newbie or a mask connoisseur.

1. L’OREAL Pure-Clay mask

These masks work in various ways, from exfoliating to mattifying to brightening. The cool thing about them is that you can use them individually or all at once on different problem areas of your face.

2. Freeman masks The packaging alone makes you want to buy them, but beyond that, these masks and scrubs work deep to clean your pores. Some of the face masks double as exfoliators. There are so many to choose from and they work on all skin types.

3. Yes To masks

I think the most fun masks are those you can peel off. You start off resembling an alien, but then you peel it and voila, refreshed skin. The downside to these are they’re one use only, but that shouldn’t stop you from trying them out.

4. Bubble Clay Mask

This clay mask is pretty unique. You apply the clay, and as it sits it begins to foam up.

5. Bentonite Clay

This mask is for the DIY girl. You will have to add water and/or apple cider vinegar to the clay in order to create a paste and plaster it on your face. Many have said this concoction has cleared up their acne significantly and it pulsates as it sits on their face.

Most of these masks are easy to find at your local drugstore or online and they are all under $20. For college girls on a budget, saving money is a biggie and you won’t go broke trying to get clear skin with some of these options.
