If you’re anything like me, you’re extremely excited for spring break that is approaching quickly. The weather has been getting much nicer and the school load has been overwhelming. It’s time for a nice week off. Certainly, I wish I was going somewhere like Mexico, (I’m sure we all know at least of a few friends who will be vacationing this spring break), but the reality is I’m just going back to my hometown. So, what is there to do at home that can make this break worthwhile?

  • Start a book. Now that we can finally put down the textbook and actually read for enjoyment.

  • Exercise outside. If the sun is out, you should be too! Pull out your tennis shoes and go for a long walk.

  • Try a new recipe. Something sweet or salty

  • Go to the salon. This is the perfect time for a little makeover, whether it be a new hair do or just touching up the nails.

  • Attend a yoga class. Here is a chance to take a break from school and try a new type of class.

  • Catch up with hometown friends. Chances are some old friends will be back in town at the same time that you are.

  • Volunteer at an animal shelter. If you have a love for animals why not volunteer some free time to play with some pets or even take them out for a walk?

  • Visit your grandparents or an elderly loved one. They absolutely love to see you and catch up with your life.

Yes, it would be so nice to be on a beach with a drink in our hand. However, there’s so much to do right here at home. Enjoy your spring break, girl, take some time to do what you love. You deserve this break from school.
