After being spoiled with a mild December and January, the recent frosty temperatures and snow are starting to hit me hard. I am constantly cold and if I leave my apartment without blowdrying my hair it freezes within five minutes. The biting wind can make you not dread leaving your bed… never mind trekking through the snow to a 9am, but there are some ways to make the winter a little more bearable.
-
Wear boots
-
Even if you are just getting coffee or running to the plex, having snow in your shoes is not a good time. Plus, snow boots make it infinitely easier to walk on ice without slipping.
-
-
Dress in layers!
-
A parka is not always the most fashionable look, but there are some ways to make it work. Wear a sweater or a button down with a vest under your coat, so you will be warm and not look like you wore your blanket to class.
-
-
Accessorize!
-
Scarves and gloves not only make you look more put together, but they will also keep you warm
-
-
Go for the skirt!Â
-
You don’t have to only wear pants for the next two months. Tights and a skirt will make you look like you actually put in some effort and you don’t have to worry about your legs freezing
-
If all else fails, just remember that some days you just need to stay wrapped in a blanket on your couch. Life is all about balance!
