Festival season is finally approaching, which means we couldn’t be any more excited or broke! Music festivals definitely have a way of doing damage to your wallet. However, the anticipation and excitement of seeing all your favorite artists in one place makes it all worth it. In April, one of the most highly anticipated and star-studded festivals will be arriving to Indio – you guessed it, Coachella! If you’re one of the almost 200,000 lucky people who managed to score a ticket to Coachella, then you definitely can relate to this list:

1.  Being able to get a ticket was one of the most stressful events of your life

If you were able to get a ticket during the advance sale last year or during the regular sale in January, then you understand the stress of multitasking. Getting a ticket requires you to have multiple tabs open on your laptop, phone, iPad and any other electronic devices you can get your hands on; not to mention, all the while you’re frantically texting your friends to make sure you get tickets to the same weekend. While unfortunately not everyone is able to get tickets through the Coachella website, there’s always the option to buy your ticket through a third party retailer and risk paying up to double the price for a ticket because, well, it’s Coachella and people can sell tickets for insane prices. While it may seem ridiculous to pay up to $1,000 for a ticket, seeing BeyoncĂ© this year might just make it all worth it.

2. Having a ticket but having no idea where you’re staying

Finding a hotel or Airbnb to stay at may be just as hard as getting a Coachella ticket. Since Indio anticipates the start of Coachella every year to make tons of money off concert goers, it only makes sense for hotels and Airbnb renters in the area to charge exuberant amounts of money for rooms. Good luck booking ahead of time too; prices during this time will always be high, no matter how early you try to reserve a space. Hotels in the area are also limited, meaning you have to be ready to fork out hundreds of dollars and fast before other Coachella attendees book up all the rooms.

3. Realizing your bank account is slowly disintegrating

Looking at your bank account and seeing how much money has been spent on Coachella also makes you realize how many hours of your life you spent working to make that money. And now it’s all gone. This also makes you realize how much more you need to work to make that money back and have enough to eat and live. Oh, the struggle.

4. Waiting several months for the line-up to come out and questioning if it was all worth it

The anticipation of waiting for the lineup might be the worst part of all. You’ve already spent more money then you should have and you begin to question if being this broke is worth it. You begin to get desperate and research past Coachella line-ups to try and come up with your own predictions of who might be performing this year. You even start reading conspiracy theory articles about who could be performing in order to try and ease some of your anxiety. However, no matter how much you try, you’ll just have to wait until the line-up officially comes out to soothe your frazzled nerves.

5. The line-up finally comes out and now you can’t wait for Coachella!

It’s finally the day! The Coachella line-up has been released and you’re pleasantly surprised. Some of the articles you read even predicted some of the artists correctly. Some of the artists on the list would break the bank with their concerts alone so, all in all, you feel like you’ve gotten your money’s worth.

6. Getting excited to wear cool bohemian outfits

One of the most exciting things about the festival is all the cool and super trendy fashion seen at the festival. Coachella is also a hub for celebrities like Zac Efron, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Selena Gomez and Coachella queen Vanessa Hudgens, so there’s definitely plenty of outfit inspo to go around. Not to mention, almost all clothing stores bring out their new festival fashions once Coachella season rolls around.

7. You don’t even know what your school schedule will be like yet because of the quarter system

So you’ve bought your ticket, booked your hotel room and now you’re even planning out outfits. However you’re still unsure of one of the most important factors going into your Coachella trip: what your school schedule will be like. Being that we’re on the horrid quarter system, it’s impossible to know when your classes and exams will be come April. All you can do is hope for the best and try not to schedule any Friday classes. May the odds be ever in your favor.

In the end, all the money and countless hours spent planning will all be worth it once you get to experience the magic of Coachella.
