Start on a Postive Note
You might be nervous about starting a new semester with new professors and new people in your classes, so it’s time to start thinking positive! Look at it as an opportunity to make a new friend! If you go into the semester thinking that it’s going to be great, then it’s more likely that it will be.
Tidy Up
The best way to put the past behind us and start with a clean slate, is to get rid of the old and make room for the new! Throw away old notebooks and clean out your desk drawers throwing away scraps of paper and gum wrapper to declutter your life and make you happier. This is a small step to feeling better and it’ll give you a more confident start to the semester, with little to no stress!
Set Some Goals
They don’t have to be ridiculously hard, just set some easy maintainable goals to give yourself a happier healthier lifestyle. Like, drinking more water! Make it a daily goal to refill your water bottle at least twice. It will help keep your skin looking good and moisturized, especially during these cold winter months! Or, write neater! I know whenever I start a new semester or year I always take some time to make my notes looking good and legible, but as the year goes on, it starts looking like chicken scratch. Start taking your time! It can also help with your studying in the future if your notes are clean and readable.
Organize
Get a planner….and actually use it. I never used to use a planner but once I did, it changed my life. College kids balance a lot, so a planner is an awesome way to make sure you remember it all (and procrastinate less). Put assignment due dates, tests, projects, meetings, work days, and even birthdays! Just head over to target or your local dollar store and pick out your favorite. If you’re super into organizing your life, I also recommend getting different colored pens to color code your classes or other significant things.
Find Balance
It can be difficult at times to balance family, school, friends, and boyfriends, but don’t ever forget about you! We all get so caught up with everything else going on in our lives, we forget to take time for ourselves. Once a week try and take a night and pamper yourself – do a face mask or paint your nails. Relax and unwind in whatever way is best for you! Dont feel like you to go to a spa or get a massage to do this, there are plenty of DIY’s and other options out there!
