An Open Letter To My Bed

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wilfrid Laurier chapter.

To the best sleeping partner I’ve ever had.

I don’t remember a time when I ever hated you. I’ll admit that I had a rocky relationship with my old bed, but with you, it’s different. I appreciate you. Whoever says size doesn’t matter is obviously fooling themselves. My last bed was too small, but you’re perfect.

Thank you for being the best shoulder to cry on. You’re always so welcoming, and I’m comfortable with you. When I leave you every morning, I count down the hours until I can return to your warm embrace again.

I also want to thank you for being the best third wheel I could ask for. You’re always there for me when I need you, in that department. Thank you for accepting all of the Netflix and Chills of the past, and the ones to come. I appreciate you for being so accepting of all of my friends and our countless hangouts while we watch trashy reality television, or just talk.

I’m sorry for all of the food I have spilled on you, and the crumbs that end up all over you. I’m sorry for the times that I have sleepovers and squish four or five of my friends into you. I want to apologize, but also thank you for being there for me after a night out, and staying with me until the next morning when my hangover starts to kick in.

Sometimes I try out other beds, and think maybe they could be the one for me. But then I come back to you, and realize that you’re the only one for me. Thank you for all you do for me. It doesn’t go unnoticed.

Sincerely,

The crazy girl writing a letter to an inanimate object.

I'm a lover of all things pop culture. By pop culture, I mean McDonald's and rap music. Also dogs. I love dogs.
