Meet Jamie Peters, a writer for Her Campus at UW Lax! She’s a Communication Studies major from Omro, Wisconsin, who loves La Crosse. Read on to learn more!
A: Why did you decide to join Her Campus?
J: I enjoy writing, and I thought it would be a cool club to meet other people on campus.
A: What is your favorite part about writing for Her Campus?
J: I like when we got free stuff! *giggles* Just kidding . . . I like that you get to write almost anything you want. I know other blogs and classes that you take have a lot more restrictions on what you can write about.
A: What else do you like to do around campus?
J: I’m in Comm Club, I take yoga classes at the Rec, I like going on bluff hikes when the weather is nice, and I love spending time with my friends in the dorms.
A: What are your hobbies?
J: I really like to read (if that’s considered a hobby) and I love to hunt and fish. And is Netflix a hobby?
A: Favorite thing about La Crosse?
J: It’s so pretty around here, and there’s a lot of things to do.
A: What’s one thing you miss most about home?
J: I miss hanging out with people I grew up with, because those people know everything about me. There’s no small talk about “what’s your major?” or anything like that because we already know each other so well.
A: What do you want to do when you’re done at UWL?
J: I’m not sure exactly, but I hope I get a job where I can help people. And I also want to travel to anywhere I can.
A: Last but not least–what is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
J: Just to always stay true to who you are and what you believe in.
