Finals week is quickly approaching, and everyone knows that snacking is the key to success. It is easy to reach for the bag of potato chips or candy, but research shows that good nutrition and academic performance are closely linked. These snack suggestions are low cost, healthy, and library friendly!
Â
1. Popcorn
Popcorn is a delicious, easy snack to pack for finals week. There are so many options, from Skinny Pop to microwaveable popcorn, and different flavors too. Don’t be afraid to munch on this snack during finals week!
Â
2. Nuts
Almonds, pistachios, cashews, you name it – nuts are healthy alternatives to your usual bag of potato chips. If you aren’t ready to commit to eating nuts on their own, try trail mix, which offers a balance of sweet and savory.  Â
Â
3. Hummus and Veggies
Hummus is one of my go-to snacks! There’s a flavor for everyone and it even makes eating vegetables a little easier.
Â
4. Apples and Nut Butter
Apples and nut butter is a classic childhood snack. If you have a little extra time on your hands, try them as a sandwich!
Â
5. Yogurt and Granola
Greek yogurt and granola parfaits are easy to make and can be filling too. My favorite add-ins are berries, chia seeds, and cinnamon!
Â
6. Smoothies
Smoothies are super filling and jam packed with antioxidants and nutrients. Throw some spinach into your next smoothie to get your daily dose of veggies.
Â
7. Lots of Water and Tea (to balance out the coffee consumption!)
We all know finals week means coffee. However, your body is going to need water more than ever. So don’t forget to drink two liters a day. Tea makes a nice alternative to coffee and comes in a variety of flavors. Some also have caffeine (if you can’t escape your coffee craving)!
