SOS: The Hidden Gem of Marymount

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at MMM chapter.

If you’re ever wondering where I am, I’m probably in the SOS. Don’t know what the SOS is? Then you are seriously missing out on one of Marymount Manhattan College’s best resources.

SOS stands for Student Organizational Suite. It’s a space behind the Commons West that holds the offices of student leaders of Core Council clubs, but it is also just a space for students. It’s filled with lounge chairs, a couch, a coffee maker, fridge, and computers. Everything you need to survive a break between classes. Clubs can host meetings at the conference table and students can get work done when the library is too crazy.

Not enough students make use of their suite. It is meant for us and should be used by us. Those of us who do frequent the SOS have become a little community and we use each other as resources.

If you want to start using the SOS, all you have to do is walk in and take a seat.
