9 Things That Happen in Every Squad Group Chat

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNCW chapter.

Every girl has that one group chat with her closest friends. Some of us have several going on at one time, but at the end of the day, they all consist of these basic topics. Here are things that happen in every squad group chat.

1. Screenshots

Maybe it’s that girl from high school we love to hate. Maybe someone we all know got engaged. Maybe you got into a stupid fight with your boyfriend. You name it, we have the screenshots. And we’ll be sure to hold on to them forever.

2. Daily Gossip

We’re not always around each other to know every little detail of everyone’s day so we dish out the highlights. Crazy night out? Hook up? Awkward moment? Other friend drama? Bring it to the group chat.

3. Pep Talks

Not sure if that outfit is the right one? Need a little push to talk to that guy? Had a rough day and need some love? Tell the squad. They always know how to help.

4. Advice

Your best friends know you better than anyone. Sometimes you need multiple opinions to come to a final decision on something. The squad usually delivers some sound advice.

5. Mom Moments

We want each other to have fun, but when you don’t reply after a while, we get concerned. We love you. We worry.

6. Breakups

If you’re sad, we’re sad.

7. Trash Talk

. . . but on the other hand, he never deserved you anyway. We will talk straight trash about him in a matter of seconds.

8. Stalking

Oh, your ex got a new girlfriend? Your boyfriend went out last night and you need some proof? There’s a new guy and you need confirmation that he’s attractive? Have no fear, every social media account will be pulled up in no time.

9. Slaying

No matter how often your squad gets together in real life, you all slay together and on your own. You all know that you are the baddest, funniest, prettiest, and realist girls in the world and no one can tell you any different. You are the definition of squad goals.
