It was the shot heard ‘round the world when word got out that Kanye West made the seemingly abrupt decision to cancel the remaining dates of his Saint Pablo tour.
According to The Washington Post, West has since been treated for exhaustion in the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center since Monday.
Fans were confused when he aggressively discussed his political views during a San Jose concert last week. West notably said: “I told y’all I didn’t vote, right? … But if I would have voted, I would have voted on Trump.”
Later that week, at his Sacramento show, West went another rant, this time comparing himself to Donald Trump, according to the New York Times.
“I am putting my career, my life, my public well-standing at risk when I talk to y’all like this,” he said to the crowd, confusing the concert go-ers. “I’ve been sitting here to give y’all my truth even at the risk of my own life. Even at the risk of my own success, my own career. I’ve been sitting here to give y’all the truth.”
Although these rants are nothing new to fans, due to West’s recent outbursts paired with his storming off of stages and cancellations, rumors have been speculating that his mental health may be in jeopardy.
According to unnamed source, which spoke to People Magazine, Mr. West has been simply run dry. “He’s just exhausted. He’s been working around the clock on fashion design, both on his own line and the Adidas line. He’s a notorious workaholic, so balancing both that work — which is extremely important to him — and the rigors of the tour every night, it really wore him out.”
Earlier this morning, it was released by The Huffington Post that Mr. West did not go to the hospital against his will.
According to an unnamed source, West “went to the hospital at will under the advice of a physician. He’s fine.” The source also added: “We’re super confident he’s going to pull through.”
