We’re All a Little Bit Kirk Inside

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Purdue chapter.

With the Gilmore Girls revival approaching quickly, I’ve been binge watching – oh… sorry… I meant LIVING the Gilmore Girls lifestyle. Eating pizza and Chinese takeout while watching old movies on the couch with my BF is about as close as I can get to Stars Hollow, but I’ve come to realize that we are all a little bit like one character in particular. Kirk Gleason. Here’s why:

We’re all a little stuck in our ways

Like Kirk at Luke’s Diner, we all have our seat in each classroom, our favorite computer in the library, and our preferred seating area in the union.

We have the same body goals

I know we all want that “spring break bod,” but it does seem a little unrealistic.

We’ll do almost anything for a quick buck

You want me to give you driving lessons? Wash your dog? Flip a sign?! I’m down.

Sometimes we make people uncomfortable without realizing it

It’s easy to find yourself inches away from a stranger in a long and shove-y line for something free on a college campus.

We like to push ourselves to new limits

Pushing yourself to try new things is a great way to get out of that funk you’ve been in since mid-terms began.

Letting your friends give up isn’t an option

Kirk didn’t let anyone in Stars Hollow give up & neither should we! Give your friends a little encouragement and one day they’ll do the same for you.

We tend to hold grudges

We’ve all been peeved to an extreme extent but you just have to let it go! If you don’t, you’ll find yourself saying things like this:

We’re all a little whacky, but who isn’t? Embrace the Kirk in you, friends!
