The Best Fall Attire

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SFA chapter.

What to wear now that it’s getting colder

It’s November, and it is FINALLY starting to cool down. I personally despise the heat, so I have been waiting for it to cool down for quite some time. My winter attire is probably my best. I’m super excited. For those who have no fashion sense when it comes to dressing for winter, then I might be able to help. Not to say that I am a fashion guru or anything, but I can definitely throw an outfit together and look like I put a lot of thought and effort.

My go-to outfit for the fall is to throw on a sweater. In the famous words of SpongeBob, the best time to wear a striped sweater is . . .

But it definitely looks best for wintertime. I love a good oversized sweater with leggings and boots.

Which brings me to my next point: boots. I am talking about any kind of boots— fluffy; riding boots— they are all super cute in the fall. You can even pair them up with boot socks to add even more style.

Another great thing about the change in weather is you get to layer up. That just means the more clothes the better. If you aren’t completely satisfied with your outfit add on a stylish coat or maybe even a scarf. Let me tell you about the scarfs. Scarf season is the best! There are so many options from infinity scarfs to thick knit scarfs. This accessory turns any plain outfit into a fashionable popping outfit.

This can definitely keep you looking stylish this winter. If you’re big on accessories another great one is gloves. I am a huge fan of the ‘hobo’ gloves. They have an opening for you to be able to use your fingers, but also have a separate cover up that you can put  on your fingers when they get cold!

It’s a perfect combination of the use of your fingers and a blanket for them too. They turn into mittens.

And if you really want to make a fashion statement, wear a hat. It’s very trendy, for me personally I feel like it is hard to pull off. But if you are a dare-devil and enjoy taking risks, by all means wear a hat this fall. The point of fall is to get out of your comfort zone by stepping into a comfortable and cozy sweaters. Be stylish and dress up for fall try something new.
