Ladies and gents, lace up your running shoes because the Masters of Public Health and the Public Health Student Association of Florida State University are having a free—yes, FREE—Halloween-Themed 5k this weekend. The 5K, known as Trick or Trot, will happen on Sunday, October 30th.

If you have not already registered, you can still can on the day of the race at 7:30 am. The race itself starts at 8:30. It will begin at the Union Integration Statue and follow the 5k path pictured above. Parking will be available in the Woodward Garage. Wearing your best Halloween costume is encouraged!
The Master of Public Health Students decided to host the 5K along with the Public Health Student Association because they wanted to introduce public health initiatives to the FSU community and give more knowledge about the MPH and PHSA programs. They are also using the 5K as a promotional event to raise awareness of hunger within the Tallahassee Community. MHP and PHSA will be partnering with America’s Second Harvest of the Big Bend to host a food drive this season, and the 5K is the kickoff for the canned food drive, which runs Monday, October 31st to Friday, November 18th. Canned items can be dropped off in the drop box in Bellamy 047.
If you are interested in getting involved with the PHSA, there will be an information table at the event. PHSA is a great organization for individuals that have an interest in public health or healthcare, as well as individuals that care about the health of the FSU and Leon County community. More information on the PHSA at FSU can be found here.
The MPH and PHSA would like to extend a special thanks to those who have helped and are helping with the event: The Big Event, FSU’s College of Human Sciences, FSU’s Sports Clubs, Phi Mu and members of the American Medical Student Association.
