Sometimes, it can be hard to remember that you’re a valuable person. Maybe you failed a test, maybe you and your bf are fighting, or maybe you just woke up in a rotten mood. There are a lot of things that can get you down. Now, I know that every single one of you are precious little nuggets who have a lot to offer. But do you?
Here are a few things to tell yourself every morning just to make sure you start the day’s internal conversation right.
1. “Today is a new day.”
There are definitely going to be days when you screw up big time. Nobody’s perfect. You need to get in the habit of waking up every morning and realizing that it is a new day. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to redeem yourself and to make new, successful memories. Yesterday is not held against you.
2. “I am the best version of me there will ever be!”
You are unique. You have interests, talents, and abilities that are purely your own. You may think you have imperfections, but the truth is no one is without flaws. Embrace your flaws and flaunt your strengths because nobody can do it quite like you!
3. “My body, my rules.”
Maybe you wake up and really want to eat three whole donuts. Maybe you just want an egg white omelet with broccoli. Just eat it! Your body and what you put in it is your business and your business alone. Don’t let other people dictate how you make your tummy happy! They aren’t the ones who have to live with the dissatisfaction of choosing the wrong food.
4.“I’m gonna rock today!”
Even if you don’t believe it deep down, telling yourself that you’re going to have an awesome day will have a positive effect. You’ll feel empowered enough to go out there and make what you want happen. Positivity will shine from the inside out and good things will gravitate your way. Plus you’ll probably give off this super cool, can’t touch me vibe.
5. “I can do this.”
Whatever it is you face that day, you’re capable of making it through. You’ve probably dealt with worse before and you have a whole lifetime’s arsenal of experience to help you through. Take a deep breath and conquer the world. And hey, if all else fails, you get to sleep again in approximately 14 hours!
