2 Chainz performing

Students at USFSP have been busy showing off their school pride this week at various Homecoming  events. From cardboard boat races to ziplining, students have had time to unwind between and after classes just as midterms approach. This Thursday, USF hosted artists Dreezy and 2 Chainz, for the Homecoming concert.

The concert was open to USF students from all campuses and to the public. Even with Hurricane Matthew threatening to close down the program, everyone crowded the Sun Dome in Tampa to watch the rappers perform.

As everyone walked into the Sun Dome, they either took to their seats or found a spot in the general admission pit. DJs from Bulls Radio played music and hyped up the crowd before the first artist started her set.

By 9 p.m., the host for the night announced that Dreezy, a rapper from Chicago, would be starting her set soon. Dreezy was accompanied by a DJ that played beats and music while she rapped her lyrics. Two USF students even got the opportunity to get on stage and dance along with Dreezy for two complete songs.

2 Chainz arrived over an hour late to the venue and later explained that he contemplated not performing  because of Hurricane Matthew. He delivered his condolences to everyone being affected by the storm and began his set.  He performed a variety of songs, from his early recordings to the most recent ones. The crowd went wild during every song and created an atmosphere full of exhilaration.

Homecoming week will come to a close with a football game on Saturday, October 8th, when the USF Bulls take on East Carolina.

With love, Her Campus.
