Let’s face it: most of us don’t like to work out, but we do it anyway because we know it’s good for us. I bet every single one of you likes to listen to music when you work out. You can get a good rhythm going, it can motivate you to do better, and it can just make the time go by a little bit faster.
Well, I’d like to pass along some of my absolute favorite workout songs. I listen to them when I’m running, power walking, lifting weights, and biking – and they DEFINITELY keep me going! In particular, I like to build my workout playlists around themes of positive body image, individuality, and all-around empowerment.

FirstBourne is a brand new band based in Boston, MA. Their music is a hard, heavy fusion of rock and metal with a kicka** leading lady. “Riot” is their first single, and it’s nothing if not powerful.

Within Temptation is a female-fronted symphonic metal band from the Netherlands. “Dangerous” is a fast-paced song centered on risk taking and living life to the fullest. It is one of the singles from their latest album Hydra, which marked a sharp change of pace from their gothic metal roots.
