It’s time to get your shop on, U of U! Fall is fast approaching so we’ve created a list below of 5 cheap, trendy and creative accesories that can be incorporated into your wardrobe. They’ll amplify your cool girl style and showcase your personality so fellow undegrads can know just what a rad person you are. Â
1. Enamel Pins
Add some flair to your jean jacket this semester with funky enamel pins. These little trinkets are not only cheap, but an easy way to spruce up any outfit or backpack. Show off your love for cats, highlight your obsession with Sriracha, or even sport a feminist message. Girl power, amiright? Pins like these will definitely add a fun feel to your wardrobe while simultaneously making a statement about who you are. Check out the selections at online shops like Etsy, Good Good Pins, Strange Ways  or even Urban Outfitters. If you’re feeling adventurous go take a look around the local thrift stores to see what you find. Rock the enamel pin trend this semester and you’ll get tons of compliments, trust me.Â
2. Baseball Caps
If you haven’t noticed that baseball caps have taken over campus this semester, then that’s a sign your obsession with PokĂ©mon Go has gotten out of hand. Put the phone down and look up, ladies. Functional accessories like baseball caps are an easy trick to hide greasy roots when there is zero time to shower and you’re running late to 8:00am Psych. They’re also a sure fire way to add some personality to an outfit. Want to showcase your sassy side? Check out hats with phrases like “uh huh honey” or “peachy”. Maybe you want to opt for a sporty look so you can rep your favorite team like the New York Yankees or the LA Dodgers. Are you a girl with simple style? Look at these plain caps from ASOS here.  Also, don’t be afraid to search through old clothes or a parent’s closet to score a well-worn cap for a vintage look that’s FREE. Nice, huh?Â
3. Silk Scarves
For a chance to feel like Blair Waldorf this fall, a silk scarf is a must have for your wardrobe. Use this accessory to add a supercool touch to a purse, or tie it around your neck for a chic finish to any outfit. Like the photograph above, juxtapose a scarf with a leather jacket to add some femme to your edge. Click here for more ideas and here for a not-too-expensive starter scarf. With this accessory you’ll feel like an upper east sider enjoying autumn in NYC, even if reality has you trudging across campus to O Chem. XOXO.

4. Platform Shoes
Looking for a way to pay tribute to the late, great David Bowie? Then consider purchasing your own pair of platform shoes this season in order to channel your inner Ziggy Stardust. While this trend may seem intimidating and fraught with possible dangers (rolled ankles anyone?) it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t embrace the platform style. It’s SUCH a bad-ass way to make a statement this semester. So, be like Bowie and take a fashion risk. Just use caution while maneuvering down stairs, k? Click on the following links to check out platform sandals, boots and sneakers for ideas on how to elevate *buh dum tsss* your college wardrobe.
5. Velvet! Velvet! Velvet!
Flashback to the 90’s!  Velvet is all over the runways this season, and we couldn’t be more excited. Get ready for velvet-ified shoes, handbags, scarves, hats (check out this awesome velevet baseball cap here) and anything else that the fabric can be slapped onto. Click here for cute velvet bags on polyvore and here for a throwback to velvet scrunchies. Now is the time to get a jumpstart on the accessory trend dominating fall. Soon you’ll be asking people to call you…
