6 Ways to Stay Sane the Semester

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at OK State chapter.

The start of the semester has begun!

Syllabi are being passed out, first assignments are being turned in, and the stress of a hard semester has begun.  Even with all the school involvement, midterms, and papers, there’s still an opportunity to gain that college experience you’ve always hoped for.

However, sometimes that college experience becomes a chore, and I’m here to tell you that it’s OK to have nights were you do nothing or moments where you just sit in bed, and stare at the ceiling. So here’s a list of ways you can distress, relax and not overwhelm yourself this fall.

1.) Don’t always say yes.

You are going to be given a lot of opportunities, asked to hang out with multiple people, join thousands of clubs and more. It’s OK to say no to certain opportunities.

College is about YOU, don’t overwhelm yourself by trying to do everything.

2.) Be studious and GO TO CLASS.

You never know what you are missing if you don’t go to class. Plus, attendance points are easy grade boosters.

3.) Nap time is always a good time.

It is a good thing to take naps during the day, becasue they either help you to reenergize or procrastinate on your responsiblities.

Naps are essential for being a happy college student:).

4.) Can’t nap? Food is the best alternative.

Food and coffee is always a go. Always.

5.) It’s good to stay in and watch Netflix all weekend.

It’s good to stay in for the weekend and finish a Netflix series or two, even if you are by yourself.

6.) Weekend adventures are real.

A weekend away from college is needed when life becomes overwhelming.

Take some time off and go create new memories with your friends!

Moral of the Story: You can do it! This semester might be hard, but just remember to take time for yourself and you’ll ace it!
