Q & A
Her Campus: What made you choose to be an English major and why did you choose the creative writing concentration?
Brianna Watson: I chose to be an English major because reading has always been one of my favorite ways to spend my time. I chose the creative writing concentrations because ever since I was little I’ve always been fascinated by coming up with stories. When I would play pretend, I would always have to come up with an elaborate backstory for my character.
HC: Did you know what you wanted to major in before you transferred to GC?
BW: Yes, I was an English major in the associates program at my old school.
HC: What made you choose GC?
BW: The GC creative writing department had been recommended to me by several of my professors. One of them also got a creative writing degree from here.
HC: What is your favorite thing about the creative writing department here?
BW: I like the workshop environment and the way the professors conduct the classes.
HC: If you were stranded on a desert island and could only have three objects what would they be?
BW: A water purifier, a bow and arrow, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
HC: If you were to ever encounter an extraterrestrial (assuming they were real) what would you want to ask them?
BW: I would ask what their civilization was like and then I would ask them not to kill me.
HC: Favorite book?
(I had to dodge several projectiles after I asked her this)
BW: I couldn’t choose a favorite book. All of the books are my favorite book; even the ones I haven’t read yet.
