Now that freshmen year is coming to a close, freshmen are looking back and realizing things they love, hate and would change about college. I had the opportunity to talk to Caroline Illes (Freshmen at SCAD) and ask her a few questions about her time at SCAD so far.
RL: What’s your major?
CI: Interior design.
RL: What’s your favorite part about SCAD?
CI: The location and the different types of people I have met and also being in an art environment.
RL: What’s your least favorite part about SCAD?
CI: The Hive food.
RL: If you could change one thing about your freshmen year what would it be and why?
CI: I’m a firm believer in things happening for a reason, and if I didn’t experience the ups and downs that I did then I wouldn’t be where I am.Â
RL: What advice would you give incoming freshmen?
CI: Move off campus after freshman year. It’s ok to have friends outside of your main friend group. Make strong connections with your professors cause down the line they will be the ones you can ask for recommendations. College is a place of independence and finding who you are and what you want, so explore everything.
