Ayoola John-Muyiwa, also known as AJ is currently a junior studying petroleum engineering in hopes of learning more about “sustainable development of our global energy infrastructure.”
“During my time at UH, I have served as a workshop facilitator and mentor within the Scholar Enrichment Program, president of the Nigerian Students Association, as well as programs chair for the National Society of Black Engineers,” says AJ.
As president of NSA he hopes to enrich the community with culture, diversity, and the academic excellence of its members.
“I am proud to say that NSA was awarded the Most Outstanding Program of the year by the University of Houston during my presidency.”
While balancing a competitive major and several student organizations, we wonder how he manages his steady motivation and positivity. When asked what tips and tricks he has under his sleeve, he suggests to constantly work on becoming a better you.
“There is no such thing as being stagnant; you are either getting better, or getting worse.”
And as far as his advice for success…it’s quite simple.
“My advice is to strive to help as many people as you can, and you will achieve success along the way.”
