Name: Erin Dancy
How old are you? 21
When’s your birthday? June 28th
What’s your major? Political Science
Where are you from? That’s the hard question. I guess,  Leesburg Virginia. I’m like a third culture.
Why did you choose VCU? I transferred here from Franklin and Marshall, and I wanted to be in a city.
What’s your favorite thing about VCU? I like that I was able to concentrate in what I wanted to do in my major. I couldn’t do that at my smaller school before. There’s also a ton of people from different cultures, oh and the food.
What has been your most memorable experience here? I literally don’t know. I feel like I have a lot. It’s crazy because I feel all I do is go to class, work, and do things for Her Campus. Hmm. Actually, probably reconnecting with Dan. We’ve known each other for seven years. It’s actually really funny because he had a crush on me in high school and I was dating his best friend. But when he found out I was coming here he started messaging me. He would not leave me alone either, and now here we are.
Who’s your favorite Disney Princess? I like Belle and Snow White. Mostly because I thought I looked like them, and Belle is into books. I like that they’re less of finding their prince charming.
If you could travel anywhere in the world where would it be? Man, I’ve traveled a lot. I used to live in Germany. I’ve always wanted to travel around India, I’ve never been to Asia. But mostly Europe and Thailand.
Have you ever met anyone famous? I don’t think so. Not anyone like, super exciting. I wish. I mean my grandfather is a famous TV journalist.
What’s a fun fact about you? I really should’ve thought about this before. I spent high school in Stuttgart, Germany. I also have a buttload of pets. We have a plethora of pets, and we’re about to get more.
What year did you join Her Campus? 2015
Why did you join Her Campus? Well I had just transferred here, and because I hadn’t really been in high school in the US I didn’t know anyone here. I had seen people sharing Her Campus articles and one day someone shared the application and I thought it was perfect because I needed to meet people and I had prior event experience. It got me involved and I met awesome people.
What has been your favorite memory/event in HC? My favorite memory, well I love that we’ve always used my apartment for meetings. We did a Great Gatsby event and everyone was in my apartment and there was glitter everywhere. Even though I’ve moved I still find glitter everywhere.
What is your favorite thing about HC? I like that I’m getting real life experience and that I’ve always gotten to meet awesome people and that everyone’s different.
Any imparting/last words for members? It’s worth it to get involved and put a lot of effort in because there is something really rewarding about seeing a positive outcome. Don’t join if you’re not going to show up. It’s really rewarding to show up to events.
If you could go back to freshman year, what advice would you give to yourself? I would say I would tell myself to pick my major based on what I wanted than what I thought I wanted. I would have done something else.
What do you hope to do in the future? Oh gosh, I feel like I’m in a job interview. I want to have a good career, and I feel like I have something to prove because I’m a woman. With Target I hope I get to have a business management career.
Any last words? I would say don’t be afraid to be yourself. That’s definitely something VCU has taught me.
