HBO has announced via YouTube that it will be “taking over” this weekend with premieres of some of our favorite HBO shows and, of course, the highly-anticipated world premiere of Beyoncé’s Lemonade. But we already knew that, so what’s the big deal?
Well, Bey’s massive television event just so happens to be taking place during one of the subscription service’s free preview weekends, which means even if you don’t subscribe to HBO you can watch Queen B in all her glory. Did we mention it’s FREE?!
According to the HBO teaser, Lemonade will run for one hour, starting at 9 p.m. ET on Saturday. There will be an encore showing on Sunday at 8 p.m., followed by the season premieres of Game of Thrones, Veep and Silicon Valley.
This announcement comes just days after Beyoncé released a Lemonade teaser of her own. Still, no one is quite sure what Lemonade actually is. Perhaps it’s short film? A compilation of music videos featuring new songs? Whatever it is, it’s sure to cause a media frenzy just as “Formation” did.
