Struggles of a Short Girl

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Xavier chapter.

As if always having to look up at our friends and being picked on because our feet don’t touch the floor when sitting isn’t hard enough… being short comes with its own set of struggles. While we have much respect for the tall people problems that others may face, no one can deny that these short girl struggles suck:

Every pair of pants that you own is either hemmed (thus you become a professional because who has the money for that) or bought short, or you always rock the roll up jeans.

Shirts are always way too long and sometimes awkwardly bunch up at the bottom.

Always having to use a step stool (or using your spidey sense to scale counters and closets).

Don’t ask if the person you are describing is tall, because everyone is tall to us.

When someone tells you that your short… wow never knew that.

You constantly think: “If I were even just an inch taller my life would be so much easier.”

Always being put in the front of every group picture just to be seen.
