We’ve all had those moments that seem to drag on no matter how desperately we want them to end. Sometimes they last a few days and others, an entire week. Whatever the cause—be it an essay you really don’t want to write, a reading assignment you just can’t seem to get through, or a life problem you don’t want to address—it can be difficult to tackle the tasks at hand when you lack the motivation to do so. But there is hope! And it comes in the form of gifs and videos via the wondrous Internet!
I guarantee that regardless of the challenge you face, somewhere in that vast digital world, there is an image or a video that is exactly the inspiration you need. Here are some of my personal favorites for problems you may face:
If you’re struggling to balance all your responsibilities, check out this dog—steady as a rock!
If you’re craving free time but still have more work to do, take a minute to enjoy this elephant’s enthusiasm for its blue elastic ribbon. Then remind yourself: just a bit more work, and you can go find your blue elastic ribbon.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, learn from this sugar glider’s ability to elude the threat of being blown away.
If you really don’t want to start eating healthy but feel like you probably should, here’s a hamster “noming” on some broccoli to motivate you.
If you could really use some relaxation time, watch this baby donkey swing in a hammock. You’ll instantly feel more peaceful.
If you’re struggling to get along with someone or just had a fight with a friend, watch how these big cats overcome their differences to play together.
If you’re in need of some cuddles, these dogs will show you how it’s done.
If you’re feeling inadequate, know that you’re probably doing better than this poor puppy. (What can I say? Dogs are all over the Internet, and I’m partial to them).
If you’re feeling uninspired by the lack of majesty in the world around you, these deer wading through water will change your life.
If you can’t stop thinking about summer, indulge in the pure happiness of this guinea pig in a swimming pool.
As you prepare for the day or week ahead, keep these images and videos in mind (I recommend bookmarking the article for future reference). You never know when you might need a bit of help or encouragement to get through the week!
