There are a lot of articles exposing the struggles of being a tall female in today’s day and age, but few address the hard times that us few, over six foot tall females encounter. So, for your viewing pleasure… here’s a little insight into our tall life.Â
1. Shorter men claiming they can “handle” tall women.Â
2. Short girls stealing the tall male bachelors. Can you not?
3. Not knowing if you like a guy because of his personality or just his height. Sorry ’bout it
4. People calling you “huge” instead of tall. NOT a complimentÂ
5. Making eye contact with someone over the bathroom stall door. Oh, hey there.
6. The internal mental dilemma of not knowing if you should move so the shorter people behind you at a concert can see. But see, just because I’m tall doesn’t mean I have to stand in the back. Don’t punish me for my genes.
7. Feeling like a flop when people ask you if you model or play basketball and you don’t.
8. No matter where you decide to bust a move, literally everyone can see you. And we all make such beautiful faces when we dance.
9. The gap in between jeans and booties is basically unavoidable. Cold ankles, ALWAYS.
10. Being referred to by your height and not your name.
Basically us.
That all being said, our height makes us who we are. As much as I wish jeans were easier to find and I didn’t have to explain why I don’t play basketball every day, I wouldn’t change my height for anything. No matter your size Collegiettes, rock it!
But seriously, shorter girls… please stop stealing the men over 6 foot.Â
